College Essay Coaching

I’m a college essay coach and I help students create stand-out essays to get them into college.  Together we identify a superpower and develop a life story that highlights their awesomeness. Students come away feeling confident, proud of their work, and surprised to find writing enjoyable.

Everyone has a story, whether you are the uber-athlete, entrepreneur, musician, artist, writer, engineer, or scientist. No essay is the same. Each student is like a snowflake with their own identifying characteristics to make their essay like none other.

I love my job and I’d love the opportunity to work with your high school senior.

Francie and Tony had it down: A happy family life in a vibrant community with two fine young boys. Then she got “the call.” Tony was in a terrible cycling accident that brought their summer to a screeching halt. For fifteen months Francie protected Tony on his bumpy road to recovery and he protected his family from knowing just how much he hurt. Together they learned to never give up and to accept help whether it be a friend with potato salad or a lawyer who went above and beyond. Love was everywhere, inspiring Tony and Francie to stay positive and look for the community of angels floating into their lives.

At times tearful and funny, their experiences added up to finding love when they least expected it.  Alive and Fixable is a heartwarming story about discovering the ability to survive the things you think you can’t and rising above it all.

PSA: Don’t Buy Cheap Mascara.

Don’t buy cheap mascara. If you do, you could look like Courtney Love from her 1993 album cover Live Through This, as pictured above. I was Courtney for Halloween one year. I did it up with an empty pill bottle in my pocket, tiarra,  smeared red lipstick and black...

“Moms ARE the GREATEST!”

“I DO NOT GET PAID ENOUGH FOR THIS JOB!” I exclaim as I get up from my makeshift office at the dining room table. That’s how powerful I am, no real office, just a portable laptop. Only the size of my “desk” seems ominous except I sit at the corner of the table instead...
