College Essay Coaching

I’m a college essay coach and I help students create stand-out essays to get them into college.  Together we identify a superpower and develop a life story that highlights their awesomeness. Students come away feeling confident, proud of their work, and surprised to find writing enjoyable.

Everyone has a story, whether you are the uber-athlete, entrepreneur, musician, artist, writer, engineer, or scientist. No essay is the same. Each student is like a snowflake with their own identifying characteristics to make their essay like none other.

I love my job and I’d love the opportunity to work with your high school senior.

Francie and Tony had it down: A happy family life in a vibrant community with two fine young boys. Then she got “the call.” Tony was in a terrible cycling accident that brought their summer to a screeching halt. For fifteen months Francie protected Tony on his bumpy road to recovery and he protected his family from knowing just how much he hurt. Together they learned to never give up and to accept help whether it be a friend with potato salad or a lawyer who went above and beyond. Love was everywhere, inspiring Tony and Francie to stay positive and look for the community of angels floating into their lives.

At times tearful and funny, their experiences added up to finding love when they least expected it.  Alive and Fixable is a heartwarming story about discovering the ability to survive the things you think you can’t and rising above it all.

It Bugs Me When….

It Bugs Me When….

I tell ya, sometimes I'm going along and I'm stopped in my tracks.  A small pet peeve rears its head.  Something like a cereal-crusted bowl next to the sink instead of soaking in the sink or rinsed out and placed in the dishwasher and it bugs me. Or, it bugs me when I...

Old Fashioned Valentine: Roses

Old Fashioned Valentine: Roses

For years, bouquets of  red roses with baby's breath seemed trite to me for Valentine's Day and an obscene amount of money just because it's a holiday.  I couldn't lay that kind of tacky and expensive pressure on my sweetie pie.  Anything BUT red roses spoke to me.  A...
