College Essay Coaching
I’m a college essay coach and I help students create stand-out essays to get them into college. Together we identify a superpower and develop a life story that highlights their awesomeness. Students come away feeling confident, proud of their work, and surprised to find writing enjoyable.
Everyone has a story, whether you are the uber-athlete, entrepreneur, musician, artist, writer, engineer, or scientist. No essay is the same. Each student is like a snowflake with their own identifying characteristics to make their essay like none other.
I love my job and I’d love the opportunity to work with your high school senior.
Available on Amazon: Alive and Fixable
Francie and Tony had it down: A happy family life in a vibrant community with two fine young boys. Then she got “the call.” Tony was in a terrible cycling accident that brought their summer to a screeching halt. For fifteen months Francie protected Tony on his bumpy road to recovery and he protected his family from knowing just how much he hurt. Together they learned to never give up and to accept help whether it be a friend with potato salad or a lawyer who went above and beyond. Love was everywhere, inspiring Tony and Francie to stay positive and look for the community of angels floating into their lives.
At times tearful and funny, their experiences added up to finding love when they least expected it. Alive and Fixable is a heartwarming story about discovering the ability to survive the things you think you can’t and rising above it all.

In my recent memoir, Alive and Fixable, my chapter "Cyclists And Saints" describes my fix for keeping Hubby safe when he rides. I was out of sorts when Hubby was in a terrible, terrible accident back in 2010. Mostly because he was hurt, but why? It didn’t make sense...
Green Food For St. Patrick’s Day
“Tons of customers are buying cauliflower pizza crusts,” my friend, a part-time checker at a local fine-foods store informed me. I kind of liken cauliflower pizza crust to spaghetti-squash “noodles.” Not feeling it…. But, if that’s what’s trending, maybe cauliflower...
Free Solo: We All Have One
As I watched the film Free Solo, my stomach grew queasy with each ascent up the face of Yosemite’s El Capitan by rock climber Alex Honnold. It was clear he was very special; crazy, was a common word to describe his unshakeable determination and daring. I kept...
