Plaid. Yep, it’s sooooo in! I like to fem it up or spin it into something fresh. My only rule: No flannel plaid with distressed jeans, especially the boyfriend style or Curt Cobain will rise from the grave.
Flannel plaid is especially good if you are high school, college or staying at home feeling hip, warm and comfy. For a different look other than a lumberjack, try flannel meets retro athlete for running errands.
For the more mature or fashion conscious, and you are or you wouldn’t be reading this post, wear it in any fabric BUT flannel. Fem it up with silk or sheer poly. Tucks and pleats make it pretty too.
Wear plaid on a bag or scarf.

Glad to know plaid is acceptable in other forms than flannel.
I can’t do HOT. Are you going to need to continue this Friday Fashion blog? I need it. 🙂
Third request for continuing Fashion Fridays….worth considering.
Ooooo! So many great options. It’s great to know I can stop slinking around in the cast-off flannels from my sons and boldly buy and show off some cute plaid of my own. And please keep the Fashion Friday posts, Francie–they are so fun and helpful!
Yay! I’m glad the fashion posts are fun for you. They are really fun for me too! And, yes, ditch your sons’ flannels unless you are wearing them with cool sweats, chunky socks and reading by the fire.
